This Privacy Policy explains how the Sunaad mobile application ("Sunaad", the "App", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information about you. Sunaad is a directory and player for publicly available internet radio stations and podcast feeds. We are committed to data minimisation: most of what you do stays on your device and is never sent to us. By using the App you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who we are & how to contact us
Sunaad is operated by the Sunaad team (the "operator"). For any privacy question, request, or to exercise your rights, contact us at lctsgamehub@gmail.com. For the purposes of the EU/UK GDPR, the operator is the "data controller" for the limited personal data described below.
2. Information we process
| Category | What & where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| On-device activity | Your favourites, subscriptions, listening history, streaks, downloads and settings are stored locally on your device. | To make the App work and remember your preferences. Not transmitted to us unless you sign in. |
| Account (optional) | If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo, and back up your library/history to Google Firebase under your account. | To sync across devices and restore after reinstall. |
| Anonymous identifier | On first launch we create an anonymous account (Firebase Anonymous Auth) with a random ID, and a per-install UUID. | To enable sync, leaderboards, and to attach your reports/requests to you without revealing your identity. |
| Analytics & diagnostics | Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics collect app-usage events, device model, OS version, app version, language, a coarse approximate region derived from IP, and crash/stability data. | To understand feature usage, fix bugs and keep the App stable. We do not collect precise GPS location. |
| Advertising | Google AdMob serves ads and may process your device's advertising identifier and ad-interaction data for personalised or non-personalised ads. | Ads fund the free App. See §5 for your choices and consent. |
| IP address | When you submit a problem report, your approximate public IP is included in the report payload; service providers (Google, stream hosts) also process your IP to deliver content. | To diagnose region/stream issues and operate the service. |
| Content you submit | Text and details you voluntarily provide: feedback, problem reports, ownership claims, and content (station/podcast) submissions, plus the device diagnostics attached to them. | To respond to you, verify claims, review submissions and improve the App. |
| Microphone (optional) | Only if you tap to use voice search. Audio is processed to produce a text query and is not stored or transmitted by us. | To let you search by voice. We never access the mic unless you start a voice search. |
| Physical activity (optional) | Only if you enable Auto Car Mode. Android's on-device activity-recognition signal is used to detect when you start driving. It is processed on-device and not stored or transmitted by us. | To offer the large-control Car Mode. Fully opt-in. |
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate and maintain the App and its features;
- To sync your library when you choose to sign in;
- To serve ads that fund the free service;
- To respond to your feedback, reports, claims and content submissions, and to send you in-app notifications about them;
- To measure usage, diagnose problems and improve the App;
- To detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse, security and technical issues; and
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-app behavioural advertising beyond what AdMob provides subject to your consent.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (personalised ads and optional features such as voice search and activity detection); legitimate interests (basic analytics, security, fraud prevention, and improving the App, balanced against your rights); and performance of a contract (providing features you request, such as account sync). You may withdraw consent at any time (see §10).
5. Advertising & your choices
Ads are provided by Google AdMob. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — and other regions where required by law — we present a consent request (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before personalised ads are used. The App automatically detects whether this prompt is legally required for your region; users elsewhere are not shown the prompt. You can reset or limit ad personalisation in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads), and you can earn temporary ad-free time through the in-app Reward Center. Google's use of advertising data is described in Google's Privacy & Terms.
6. Identifiers & similar technologies
The App and its providers use device and app identifiers (the advertising ID, a Firebase installation ID, and our per-install UUID) to operate analytics, ads and sync. The App itself does not use browser cookies; the websites we link to (e.g. our policy pages and third-party stations) may. Because the App is not a web browser, it does not receive or respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals; for opt-outs of "sale"/"sharing" we honour recognised preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) where legally required (see §10).
7. How information is shared
We share data only with service providers that operate the App's infrastructure, and only as needed:
- Google — Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config), AdMob, and Google Sign-In.
- Stream & podcast hosts — when you play or open content, those third parties receive your IP and request data (see §8).
- Legal & safety — we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or us.
- Business transfer — if the App is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, information may be transferred subject to this Policy.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing.
8. Third-party stations, podcasts & links
Sunaad is a directory and player. We do not host, own or control the audio streams or podcast feeds; they belong to their broadcasters and creators. When you play or open them, those third parties may receive your IP address and apply their own privacy practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for. Please review their policies.
9. Data retention
On-device data remains until you clear the App's storage or uninstall. If you sign in, synced data is retained until you delete your account or ask us to remove it. As guidance on typical periods our providers retain data: Firebase Analytics event data up to ~14 months; Crashlytics crash reports ~90 days; problem reports, ownership claims and content submissions for as long as needed to handle them and for a reasonable period afterwards (and as required by law) for records and fraud-prevention. Aggregated or de-identified data that can no longer be linked to you may be retained indefinitely.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete or restrict your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:
- clear on-device data by clearing the App's storage;
- delete your synced data via Settings → Delete Account (or email us); and
- email lctsgamehub@gmail.com to make any request — we will verify and respond within the time required by applicable law.
EEA/UK: you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of "sale"/"sharing" — we do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA, we honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signals where required, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Brazil (LGPD): you have equivalent rights of confirmation, access, correction, anonymisation, portability, deletion and information about sharing — contact us to exercise them.
11. Children
Sunaad is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under the age required by your country's law (generally 13, or 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it. Ads are configured for a general audience; where required, we apply tags to restrict ad treatment for users we are told are children.
12. Security
We use reputable providers (notably Google Firebase, whose infrastructure carries certifications such as ISO 27001) with industry-standard security, access controls and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; you use the App at your own risk. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify affected users and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
13. International transfers
Because our providers operate globally, your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, under appropriate safeguards such as the relevant standard contractual clauses.
14. App permissions
The App requests certain Android permissions only when needed for a feature you choose to use:
- Notifications — to show reminders and update alerts (you can decline or turn off).
- Microphone — only when you start voice search; audio is used to form a query and is not stored.
- Physical activity — only if you enable Auto Car Mode; used on-device to detect driving.
You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings; the related feature will simply stop working.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
